WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

New iPhoneApp, WAQA, Lets Users Create Targeted and Location-Based Polls

Maya Productions, a fresh app development company today unveiled its first iPhone app called WAQA. The app, which is now available on iTunes, allows users to conduct surveys and post questions to an engaged and insightful community. Users can set pre-existing answers or choices in their surveys or allow people to openly add their own answers. They can also include images to supplement the questions or answers that they send out.

Social and Location-Based Features

WAQA, which stands for "Want A Question Answered," facilitates decision making among peers, family members, and other social groups through its streamlined and intuitive features. Users can easily create their own groups (i.e. relatives, friends, co-workers) and ask questions specifically for each set of people. So if a mom wants to ask her family what they want for dinner, she can simply type the question on WAQA and post it to her family group. Members of that group will then receive the question on their phones and they'll be able to send their inputs with just a few taps on the screen.

People can also ask geo-specific questions, thanks to WAQA's enabled GPS features. For instance, if you're looking for a good place to eat in an unfamiliar town, you can post the question on WAQA and set it to only ask people within a certain distance radius. On the other hand, those that need to ask general and public questions have the option to post their queries for the whole WAQA community to see.

"WAQA lets users benefit from not having to make dozens of calls back and forth just to reach a consensus," said Maya Productions co-founder Maria Villalva. She also emphasized the app's versatility and the fact that anyone can utilize it. "People can use WAQA to be serious and get real answers, or just to have some fun and joke around. Whether they need to conduct actual polls or just want the opinions of their friends, this app can definitely help."

Valuing Privacy

Users also have the choice of asking and answering questions anonymously. This allows them to receive honest answers, as some people may be uncomfortable in sharing their real opinions, especially for sensitive or potentially-embarrassing questions.

Aside from the option to post anonymously, Villalva also mentioned how much they value user privacy. "The information of our users will always be their own; we never advertise on our app nor do we share any data with third parties."

A Unique Take on Polling

While there are other polling and question apps out there, WAQA is the only app that lets users ask questions with the options to include images and post anonymously all using one interface. Additionally, there is no other app on iTunes that allows people to target questions by group or location.
