Synacor's HTML5 Apps Expert Jaafer Haidar to Speak at International CTIA Wireless

Buffalo, NY and New Orleans and Toronto, May 7, 2012 - Synacor, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNC), provider of the leading technology platform enabling cable, satellite, telecom and consumer electronics companies to authenticate their consumers and deliver digital entertainment, TV Everywhere, and online services, today announced its Vice President of Mobile, Jaafer Haidar, will be addressing International CTIA Wireless attendees. Haidar will be participating in a mobility panel at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Room 356, New Orleans, LA.

CTIA, which covers all things mobile, attracts more than 40,000 attendees and over 1,000 exhibiters. The panel, Mobile Data Ubiquity Track, will discuss the continued evolution of HTML5, and how its focus may shift away from devices and into the cloud. Haidar, expert and visionary in HTML5, apps, mobile, cloud, and multi-device strategy, will discuss Synacor's role driving digital media and TV Everywhere seamlessly across connected devices, on behalf of the pay-TV industry and their subscribers.

Other speakers will include Laura Merling, Alcatel-Lucent; Stuart Taylor, Cisco; Mahi de Silva, Opera Software; Biju Nair, Synchronoss; and panel moderator, Roger Entner, Recon Analytics.

Haidar was previously co-founder and CEO of Carbyn, an HTML5 platform that delivers apps, games, email and storage in one unified experience across Net-connected devices. Announced just last week, Synacor recently acquired Carbyn to offer customers a branded platform where their subscribers can enjoy a variety of content and HTML5 applications including video, music, games, newspapers, and magazines seamlessly by signing into their account on any device regardless of operating systems (OS), including Apple iOS, Google Android or Microsoft Windows.

In addition to CTIA, Jaafer also will be speaking at Connecting Vision to Reality 2012, the premier event for CEOs of emerging Canadian technology companies, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, at Ryerson University, Toronto, ON.

Synacor is growing operations in Canada to expand its innovative culture to include extraordinary digital media employees in the region.
