CTIA-The Wireless Association® Moving MobileCON™ to San Jose in 2013

CTIA-The Wireless Association® announced today that MobileCON™ will move to San Jose, Calif. in 2013. Focused exclusively on the mobile enterprise sector, MobileCON™ 2013 will take place October 16-18 at the San Jose Convention Center.

A region that prides itself as an incubator for generating the next big ideas in technology, Silicon Valley provides a natural backdrop for a show focused on cutting through the clutter and driving innovation across the enterprise.

"The move to Silicon Valley brings an entrepreneurial spirit to MobileCON that we think will be contagious as we build on the success of the 2012 show," said Robert Mesirow, CTIA vice president and show director. "Our attendees, speakers and exhibitors discovered that the new format inspired better conversations, stronger connections and more opportunities for business. Next year opens the door to even greater possibilities."

Planning for the 2013 show is underway, and CTIA is exploring new content, compelling speakers and programmatic options that embrace the spirit of a show located in the epicenter of innovation. Exhibitors found the new format to be particularly beneficial in 2012, and many are already securing their space and show experience.

Information security solutions provider Symantec exhibited at MobileCON™ for the first time in 2012, and is enthusiastic about the direction CTIA is taking with the show.

"We made the decision to have a large presence at MobileCON 2012," said Raymond Greenan, Global Telecommunications Marketing Director at Symantec. "The show is moving in a great direction with its more solutions-focused format. A lot of good sharing happened both on the show floor and in the sessions, and these are exactly the conversations we want to be a part of."

CTIA is encouraging exhibitors and attendees to participate in the building of the 2013 show by sending in requests for which speakers they would like to see on the main stages, what options they want to see from exhibitors and other ideas for customizing the show. Ideas should be submitted to heather.lee@ctia.org.
