Novatel Wireless Introduces MiFi 2
Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq: NVTL) today announced its next-generation MiFi® Intelligent Mobile Hotspot — the first mobile hotspot with a touchscreen display and the most feature rich mobile hotspot in the market. In a press release from AT&T earlier today, the MiFi®Liberate was introduced — marking the upcoming launch of the first MiFi 2 next generation device from Novatel Wireless in the near future.
MiFi 2 introduces an entirely new user interface based on a 2.8" multi-touch interactive color display, letting users control the MiFi device with the touch of a finger. It has a beautiful design, which features a minimalist style and a vibrant color screen.

Breakthrough MiFi User Experience
Through a combination of both engineering and design, MiFi 2 boasts a user experience that is like no other. It begins with putting the features and functionality at the user's fingertip through a touchscreen display that drives a better, more intuitive connection between devices and people. An accelerometer ensures that users can hold the device however they like and the touchscreen display will adjust automatically. The features and functionality of MiFi 2 are showcased by icons that allow users to easily discover and interact with the capabilities of MiFi 2 for almost any use case, such as data usage, on-board shared storage, the MiFi Media Center and location based services. From the moment a user takes MiFi 2 out of the box and begins scrolling through and interacting with it, on-device help is only one touch away, allowing greater customer support and improved usability.
Advanced MiFi Features
MiFi 2 brings a new set of features and services which redefines how users interact and use their mobile hotspots. For example, with one touch, a user can get an account summary of their data plan, including their current data usage and international roaming usage. MiFi 2 also has a new DLNA-certified Media Center which allows users to enjoy and share their movies, music, presentations and photos stored on microSD cards on connected devices. A user can simply upload photos from their camera to MiFi 2 using a microSD card and start showing them on any DLNA-enabled television or compatible devices. For business users, MiFi 2 has a simple process to upload and download stored files from any connected device. MiFi 2 also allows a user to manage connected devices to the user's needs and desires, allowing connection and blocking of remote devices.
