WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

SaveOnBrew Launches Beer Price Mobile App

SaveOnBrew is taking their mobile beer price search engine one step further this month by launching a Beer Price App for smartphone users. While anyone can access the website with the mobile web, the app gives consumers a quicker, easier way to find their favorite beers on sale.

“Even though everyone and their brother is releasing an app these days, we took our time with this decision,” explains SaveOnBrew founder Mark Davidson. “It takes an enormous amount of time, energy and resources to do it right. Yet, we wanted to launch a beer price app to make it more convenient for our loyal users to access our 250,000 to 300,000 live beer deals.”

The SaveOnBrew beer price app can be downloaded free of charge in the iTunes store and Google Marketplace. It works on both Droid and iOS platforms. Users simply enter a zip code to access a list of updated local beer sale prices. Users can share deals via Twitter and Facebook, surf multiple deals within the same store, and find deals by preferred brand or beer type. They can also access maps and driving directions to the nearest retailer with beer on sale.

“Maybe we’re crazy for giving the app away for free,” Davidson admits, “but since the whole model of our business is based on helping consumers SAVE money [on beer], we opted to do an advertiser-sponsored launch instead. We spent months working on the layout so it’s not invasive to users, but it highlights helpful, relevant local ads. The ads are designed to increase the value of our beer price database.”

So far the app has generated positive publicity from the NY Post, Wall Street Journal, US News & World Report, the Rachel Ray Show, and local news/radio shows across the country. “Why didn’t I come up with this?” wondered Rod Ryan on 94.5 The Buzz Radio in Houston. “Where to find the cheapest beer in the city? It’s a brilliant idea!”
