Wi-SUN Alliance Holds Interoperability Event focusing on Wireless ECHONET Lite
Today the Wi-SUN Alliance announced another major milestone in its Testing and Certification Program for Wireless Smart Utility Networking Products.
At the Alliance's fifth Interoperability Testing event, held at NICT labs in Yokosuka, Japan, participants from 16 product and test equipment vendors exercised Conformance and Interoperability test plans for the Wi-SUN specification for ECHONET Lite and the Wi-SUN specification for Field Area Networks. The Wi-SUN specification for ECHONET Lite has been adopted by TEPCO for its Wireless HEMS solution.
"This Interoperability Test event was one of a series of test events providing a forum for Wi-SUN member companies to prove their implementations of the Wi-SUN ECHONET Lite and Field Area Network specifications," said chair of the Wi-SUN Alliance, Phil Beecher. "We are very pleased with the level of participation at our test events and the progress we are making."
"The success of the conformance and interoperability tests in this event confirms that Wi-SUN Alliance is well on the way to delivering a robust Test and Certification program for ECHONET Lite," said chair of the Test and Certification Working Group, Chin Sean Sum of NICT.
