Next Generation of DTV Power Amplifiers - Highest Efficiency, Yet Broadband

COMARK Communications LLC (USA), in collaboration with InnovaRadio SA (Switzerland), is developing the next generation of high-efficiency solid state power amplifiers (SSPA) for DTV and Digital Radio transmitters. This new generation of SSPA's will have the highest energy efficiency presented in the market to date, while maintaining the main advantage of solid state PA's: broadband operation.

"As it's now seen in the mobile telecom industry, a reasonably-priced drain modulation solution -which can handle enough power - will be the future of the power amplifier industry. We are extremely interested in this technology and its near term potential for higher efficiency in solid state broadband amplifier design for DTV transmitters," said Richard Fiore, CEO of COMARK Communications LLC. "Everyone in the market is presenting some sort of high-efficiency solution for DTV transmitters, as it's a crucial requirement in new transmitters to be installed by broadcasters.  Every solution has some drawbacks whether in cost, efficiency and/or bandwidth, therefore we believe that it is important to support and work with InnovaRadio to prove this technology."
