  • Vodafone UK Chooses Redknee for Prepaid Data Solution

Posted by WirelessDevNet Dec. 12, 2002

Munich, Germany (December 12, 2002) - Vodafone UK has chosen Redknee Inc. to supply a comprehensive prepaid data solution for enabling GPRS services, including WAP and MMS content. With this solution, Vodafone UK has the ability to offer innovative pricing for prepaid data services, using advanced real time routing and mediation capabilities. Rating and pricing of data is based on volume, time, and type of content delivered. The solution also features advanced account management and control, reducing overall network operator risk and exposure to account misuse.

To enable differentiated real time mediation and rating of data services, Redknee will provide three network products: Synaxis-5600T IP Charging Gateway, Synaxis-2100T Unified Rating Service, and Synaxis-2100T Open Charging Gateway. These products use Redknee's state-of-the-art transactional rating engine and extensible switching fabric technology. The Redknee solution builds on and seamlessly integrates into existing IP network and BSS/OSS infrastructure, enabling network operators to offer unified accounts for both voice and data services.

"Redknee is delighted to contribute to Vodafone UK's successful data strategy," says Duncan Ratcliffe, President and CEO, Redknee Inc. "Redknee's solution offers network operators the freedom to introduce consumer-oriented pricing for prepaid data services with built-in control features. When a subscriber's account is depleted, the account status is updated, and both operators and subscribers are automatically notified."

Redknee's proven suite of service applications integrates seamlessly and securely with existing mobile network infrastructure and easily scales to support a rapidly expanding base of customers and applications. Redknee solutions accelerate the development and adoption of revenue-generating mobile network services through 3GPP/2 Open Services Access (OSA) and Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Web-Services based architectures. This means fast deployment of new services in existing networks, and quicker ROI.

Redknee's commercially deployed suite of service applications includes Call and Data Control, Payment, Messaging, and Mobile Profile applications.

    About Redknee Inc.
