Intava Gravity, the Only Multi-Platform Web Authoring Environment, Now Enables Pocket PC Development --
Intava Gravity Now Available for WAP, Palm and Pocket PC Platforms
Posted by WDN, Feb. 06, 2002
Intava Corporation, a leading provider of easy-to-use wireless development applications, today
announces the immediate availability of Intava Gravity(TM) v1.1, the industry's first multi-platform Web authoring application, now available for WAP, Palm
and Pocket PC development.
Intava Gravity allows new or existing Web applications to be created for various mobile environments with a single development effort. Intava Gravity saves
time and money by letting Web developers simulate content on multiple devices, while avoiding the complexity of learning multiple markup languages.
"Developer response to the Pocket PC 2002 software platform has been incredible," said Ben Waldman, Vice President of the Mobile Devices Division at
Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq:MSFT). "Allowing developers to easily create content for Pocket PC devices is an important part of our wireless strategy.
With the introduction of Intava Gravity 1.1, which offers developers a powerful way to create mobile Web applications, we expect to see the number of
Pocket PC developers continue to skyrocket."
With a rapidly growing global market share, and millions of devoted Microsoft developers, Pocket PC application development is poised for growth. Until
now, however, the development community has been forced to work without a product that properly addresses their unique development needs. Intava Gravity
meets these needs by providing important functionality such as multi-platform Web authoring, which allows a single effort to target multiple devices at a
reasonable price.
"Businesses looking at wireless Internet issues want to maximize the value of their existing IT investments, with first priorities given to wirelessly enabling
existing applications," stated Scott Ellison, Program Director, Wireless and Mobile Communications at International Data Corporation (IDC).
"A multi-platform Web-authoring application can provide both development cost savings and simplicity, particularly for the multi-device wireless environment."
Intava Gravity
Intava Gravity 1.1 expands upon the entire product line and adds exciting new features for more powerful development and testing than ever before:
-- Complete support for the Pocket PC wireless platform,
including simulation
-- Testing capabilities have been expanded with over three dozen
bundled device simulators, now with increased support for the
newest Sprint PCS (Nasdaq:FON) devices
-- Enhanced international device simulators allow applications to
be created for a global audience
-- Usability enhancements within Intava Gravity make development
simpler than before
-- Increased code editing options allow a greater deal of control
within individual markup languages
"Our growing customer base has enjoyed the simplicity of creating a single application for the Palm and WAP platforms since our initial release of Gravity last
October," stated Troy Kaser, Vice President of Product Management at Intava. "We are delighted to expand these capabilities by adding support for the
Pocket PC platform to the industry's only multi-platform Web authoring application."
