Zeosoft, a businessware company bringing networked mobile servers to business,
Thursday announced that the company has been awarded "Best in Show" for its ZeoSphere product at Planet PDA Expo held last month in Las Vegas.
The company won the award for having the best peer-to-peer technology for handheld computing devices. At the show, Zeosoft revealed its
ZeoSphere and ZeoFusion solutions that allow for distributed enterprise computing on handheld devices.
ZeoSphere, the first lightweight Java-based application server for wireless handheld computing devices, allows direct device-to-device data queries and
application requests regardless of a connection to the enterprise.
Integrated with ZeoSphere is ZeoFusion, an enterprise-based distributed decision flow and inference engine, which enables true end-to-end process
integration between the enterprise and devices.
"We are proud to receive this award as testament to the strides our entire team has made in developing and deploying this revolutionary wireless
solution for mobile devices," said Michael Huestis, Zeosoft chief technology officer and senior vice president of marketing and sales. "Zeosoft's goal is
to make ZeoSphere the foundation technology of choice for mobile computing solutions."
"Our editors selected Zeosoft because they are the innovators in perhaps the most explosive market in communications. They are at the absolute
leading edge of bringing essential handheld technologies to enterprises that need them," said Rich Tehrani, conference co-chairman and Technology
Marketing Corp. (TMC) president.
"Zeosoft's contribution helped to make Planet PDA the outstanding success that it was. The continued success and growth of our Best of Show
winners will make our next show an even bigger success."
The award from Planet PDA is a significant achievement for Zeosoft, because it is a sign of early market acceptance for its technology. Companies
looking to extend enterprise applications to mobile workers will benefit from the embedded application server, integrated micro-database and rules
engine, which all reside on the handheld device.
ZeoSphere technology can initiate and receive requests from an enterprise or other handheld devices enabled with ZeoSphere technology and a
wireless LAN or wireless cellular connection. Zeosoft expects its technology to revolutionize business models that are incorporating a strategy for its
mobile workforce.
Zeosoft continues to broaden its support for multiple operating systems and value-added embedded technologies. ZeoSphere, currently in beta version
with plans for a general availability market launch at the end of Q1 2002, supports operating systems for SavaJe XE, Symbian OS and Windows CE.
Zeosoft is in the process of integrating ZeoSphere with Linux and has plans to integrate with Palm's BeOS in 2002 when their platform becomes
available for development.
