nREACH’S “MOBILE CONTENT KIOSK™” TO DEBUT AT
LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT THIS SEPTEMBER
Posted by WDN, July 23, 2002
Kiosk To Be Unveiled Within The Gate Escape’s Internet Productivity Centers
Golden, CO, July 23, 2002 – nReach, the leading revenue generating content distributor and kiosk developer, will premiere its Mobile Content Kiosk™, within The Gate Escape’s Internet Productivity Centers, at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) this September, it was announced today by Mike Stemple, Founder and CEO, nReach.
Under the terms of the agreement, nReach Mobile Content Kiosks™ will be installed within two of The Gate Escape’s locations at the Los Angeles International Airport this September. Initial locations will include the Tom Bradley International Terminal, as well as the United Airlines Concourse, Terminal 7. By first quarter 2003, The Gate Escape has plans to expand their exposure within new retail space at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
“The Gate Escape has the perfect solution for downtime at the airport,” said Stemple. “From business to entertainment products, I believe our kiosk system will work seamlessly within their existing product lineup, as well as attract new customers to their location for a similar, yet mobile experience.”
“To add nReach’s Mobile Content Kiosk™ was an easy decision to make,” remarked John Gupta, CEO, The Gate Escape. “Our customer is constantly looking for technology advances that will improve their productivity and quality of life, and the kiosk has both. The possibilities for products and services [in the kiosk] are endless.”
Products available through nReach’s Mobile Content Kiosk™ include feature films, music, games, maps and guides, subscriptions, e-Books and software for users of handheld devices (Pocket PC, Palm OS, Linux, and MP3 Players), as well as ring tones, icons, games and screen savers for mobile phones. To transfer items from the kiosk, customers simply insert their preferred media card into a corresponding slot and make a selection. The kiosk will then determine what type of device is being used; and, after a small financial transaction, the appropriate file will be transferred within seconds (wirelessly for mobile phones).
This new patent-pending technology eliminates the need for a desktop computer, as well as the cumbersome steps currently required to load programs and information onto mobile phones and handheld devices. To keep each kiosk up-to-date, content providers and location managers have access to the system and in seconds are able to manage their content, add/remove items, and update pricing.
