mobileID's mobileSTUDIO and Sun's Forte for Java IDE Deliver Integrated
Wireless Tools and Design Environment for Wireless Application Development
Posted by WDN, March 25, 2002
mobileID Joins Forte for Java Extension Partner Program --
mobileID, Inc., an emerging leader in wireless applications development and deployment software for Java developers, today announced
that it has joined the thriving community of tool vendors building extensions to Sun Microsystems' Forte(TM) for Java(TM) integrated
development environment. mobileSTUDIO(TM) extends the Forte for Java product to provide customers with the ability to quickly transfer
their existing Java skills to wireless applications development without additional training.
mobileID chose to align with the Forte for Java product because it is an excellent Java IDE, and integration with the product was easy.
"Open IDEs are the wave of the future," stated Dr. Jonathan Shultis, Vice President of Engineering at mobileID. "Sun has taken a leadership
position in this area, and now other companies are moving in this direction. We believe that the integration of mobileSTUDIO with the Forte
for Java IDE will accelerate the development and deployment of wireless applications by Java language developers to meet market demand."
Joining Sun's Forte for Java Extension Partner Program also opens many other opportunities for mobileID. "We believe in Java technology,
and we believe that Sun can help us promote our products to the Java community," stated Arlin Torbett, CEO of mobileID. "We know that
taking advantage of the partner opportunities offered by Sun will have a positive impact on our business."
"The quality and range of mobileID's iRAMP(TM) System made it an ideal company to enhance the Forte for Java product," said Arthur
Gould, Senior Manager, Strategic Relations, Sun Microsystems. "Now our users have direct access to a wide selection of wireless modules
and development components that can easily be used with the Forte for Java IDE. We are impressed by the implementation of the iRAMP
System, which is based on Java technology."
mobileSTUDIO(TM), the Java technology based, GUI design tool for wireless applications development has been integrated with Sun's
Forte for Java IDE and will be showcased at the JavaOne(sm) Developer Conference in San Francisco from March 25-28.
