  • Followap Announces the Availability of Its iFollow iMMS Software Development Kit 'SDK'

Posted by WDN, May 16, 2002

Will enable an easy integration of iMMS client into mobile devices and thereby accelerate the use of iFollow MIM services by mobile subscribers

NEW YORK, May 16, 2002 - Following the formation of its Mobile Device Partnership Program (MDPP(TM)), Followap(TM), a leading provider of end-to-end mobile messaging and presence solutions for mobile operators, today announced the availability of the iFollow(TM) iMMS(TM) (Instant Multimedia Messaging Services) SDK. This SDK enables mobile device manufacturers to efficiently integrate Followap's iMMS client into their mobile devices, and enables mobile carriers to brand them according to their marketing and business strategy. These user-friendly devices will allow millions of iFollow users to easily benefit from Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) services through an intuitive interface, and help mobile operators turn these services to a mass-market success.

The iFollow iMMS SDK consists of a collection of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and design references (customizable, fully functional clients) that provide all the necessary tools for developing state-of-the art clients in a short time. The SDK complies with the Wireless Village initiative and can be used for developing a variety of clients using many platforms and bearers.

While the availability of the SDK is not restricted to MDPP members, members will receive additional information and support and will be offered to take part in developing future versions.

"We are committed to helping mobile operators generate optimal traffic and revenue from the iFollow MIM services by increasing their usability among the subscribers," said Rafi Ton, Director of Business Development at Followap. "We are working closely with both mobile device manufacturers and mobile operators to ensure that they can integrate the iMMS client using flexible and advanced tools and without compromising their business strategy and operating model."

    About the MDPP

The MDPP program was established to promote the integration of Followap's iMMS(TM) client (Patent Pending) into mobile devices. Through the MDPP, mobile device manufactures will gain access to the development tools, documentation and support required for integrating Followap's iMMS(TM) client into their mobile devices.
