The NHL’s Ottawa Senators and ZIM Technologies Score with the Senators Wireless Updater

OTTAWA, Canada (October 11, 2001) - The Ottawa Senators and ZIM Technologies International Inc. announced today the launch of the ‘Senators Wireless Updater’ that allows fans to receive game updates and final scores on their cellular phones through text messaging or on their real time, wireless-enabled PDA devices. Fans using the service will also have the option to receive information on last minute home game ticket availability. The free service begins October 11, 2001.
This service further extends the Senators innovative customer-oriented offering and takes advantage of the latest mobile technologies to keep hockey fans connected to the action regardless of where they are.
“This innovative technology is a great way to keep our fans in touch with the action when they can’t be there and informed of last minute game day ticket availability when they might like to attend but don’t already have a ticket,” stated Steve Violetta, Executive Vice President, Ottawa Senators. “The ‘Senators Wireless Updater’ is a very convenient service for fans on the go.”

The free service is simple and convenient. Fans with a cellular phone and text messaging service or a real time, wireless-enabled PDA device can log onto the Ottawa Senators Web site at and complete the easy to use registration form. Fans then personalize registration by choosing if they want to follow home, away or all games, when they want to receive a score update (every goal, end of period or end of game) and if they want to be notified of last minute home game ticket availability. Fans can also change their preferences by logging in and updating the preference page.
