CDMA2000: First to Market With 3G

The CDMA Development Group
(CDG) recently hosted an online interactive event featuring executives from CDG member companies
Ericsson, Lucent Technologies, Motorola and QUALCOMM.
The online event addressed the advantages of CDMA2000, the only commercially deployed 3G wireless
technology, which has more than 1 million subscribers today. Topics discussed during the webcast included
CDMA2000 architecture, migration paths, terminals, applications and future evolution.
The online event featured executives including Egil Gronstad, senior director, product line management of
Ericsson; Roger Deeringer, product marketing director, Lucent Technologies; Neal Campbell, vice
president, global CDMA product operations, Motorola; and Jeff Belk, senior vice president, marketing,
QUALCOMM. The webcast was hosted by Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG.
