typically the "push" is email ala "5556667890@cellone.sf.com" or browser messaging ala 5556667890.upl.up.sprinpcs.com (which is the subscriber number at a phone.com uplink gateway).
programatically you push browser messages out using a DLL or some perl scripts that phone.com provides.
