Subject: RE: MobileLBSList: Re : WAP or i-Mode for Mobile Banking ?
Date:  08/21/2000 04:01:09 AM
From:  Warren Hill

In order of usage:-

SMS, i-Mode, WAP. However, this also matches accesability to the phones.
i.e. the most people had access to SMS, followed by i-Mode then WAP. As the
WAP service is being expanded to include more handsets we are seeing more
usage, and it is growing faster than the other 2 so far.

The i-Mode users are the most frequent returnees, however this may be
related to the fact they have the highest number of notification services.

Warren,

Based on your experience, was there anything identifiable that makes iMode
or SMS and inherently superior solution to WAP? Also, can you release
actual usage statistics? I'd be curious to see if, say, 5% of the SMS
subscribers used the service regularly as opposed to maybe 15% of the iMode
users. That kind of information would perhaps point to which interface was
preferred by end users.
