Hi

Was quite surprised when I had all this extra mail this morning, so I
suppose it's my turn !!

My name is Zita Joubert and I am a Senior Consultant for eMerge IT
Recruitment in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have 14 years IT experience
(from PC "techie" to IT Manager), got fed-up of corporate politics and
decided to join friends of mine who started eMerge - small, specialised IT
recruitment company.

Being a "techie" at heart, I surf a lot to see what is happening out there,
and obviously have to look for new business too .... (boring !) This
WAP-thing has really got me going (wow) ... I work with GSM people,
telecomms, security, networking etc and now also everything to do with WAP.

I have joined to learn from you guys, to stay in touch with what is REALLY
happening.
Being in AFRICA, we also seem to be a "bit behind", not getting all the
info. Companies here have not jumped on the bandwagon yet. The cellular
companies (specially Nokia, with the 7110) has now created a public
awareness of WAP, but there ain't not apps for WAP, so the man in the street
has got this wonderful phone (which is always short of supply, you have to
go on a waiting list, and when you have the phone, there's not much you can
do with it !!!!!). It would be great if the banks could get going with this
.... but they are all "pussy-footing" around, to scared to leap ahead of
their competitors.

How are things developing in the rest of the world ?? Are people really
"using WAP".
Regards
Zita Joubert
