If yes, here are some corrections/clarifications to your statements:

this is actually already the case in Japan - however it's not
"millions" but "fifteen million".

if 20 million people is "very few" your statement is correct.
In most European countries 20 million is quite a lot :) But it's always
difficult to count/define internet users precisely.

I agree that market positioning is very important - most people are
interested in the value they get out of something (e.g. WAP) not in the
technology. Nobody is interested in a WYP-motor driven car, if it does
not take you from A to B substantially faster than walking, even if
WYP is an incredible standard, on which 500 car makers have agreed.
