A short technical summary:
Softwired offers industry’s first and only wireless JMS solution. Applications deployed on the iBus//Mobile platform can be operated in disconnected mode from the J2EE server by using a “store-and-forward” message transmission approach.
iBus//Mobile solves problems such as lost connections, slow transmissions, long software development cycles, and low portability characterize many attempts to connect applications running on mobile devices, with applications running on a server environment. The patent-pending iBus//Mobile middleware platform provides a standards-based, scalable, reliable, and secure solution for making your business data available to any Java enabled device.
From a technical point of view, a mobile Java application can use iBus//Mobile to directly call Enterprise JavaBeans running under control of BEA WebLogic, by means of JMS. No need to worry about reliability issues in a wireless environment. No need to write Servlets, Java Server Pages, and other time-consuming integration software. iBus//Mobile takes care of storing JMS messages locally on the device, in case of lack of wireless network coverage, of guaranteeing the delivery of transactions and of user data, of encrypting data, and of providing user authentication functions. iBus//Mobile further takes care of interfacing to various wireless network standards, and of integrating with positioning-, billing, and profiling services.
