Dear All,
We have developed a location services middleware which sits between a GMLC (Gateway Mobile Location Center)and applications delivering MLS (Mobile Location Services). On one side it interfaces to multiple MLCs (like Ericsson's MPS, Nokia's mPosition) and on the otherside it provides APIs for application developers. Using these APIs, application developers are able to take advantage of pre-built functions in the middleware for tracking a mobile terminal, defining zones for an application, tracking mobile terminals against these zones etc. The middleware also provides facilities for request-response audit through logs, service profile management for applications, and billing record creation. The middleware helps application developers to reduce the development efforts by upto 35% to 40% for situations requiring simple and zone based tracking. Hence you can build many applications quickly.
The middleware is a pure Java implementation around EJB framework and is tested with open source and commercial platforms. Hence some can start with no investment in software platforms and as load increases, can decide which way to go.
