Subject: MobileLBSList: Vehicle tracking
Date:  03/08/2002 01:22:40 PM
From:  Zorel J. Morales

Dear Friends:

Iīve been asked for several people that runs small to intermediate sized
bussines, that use a small fleet of cars, letīs say 3 to fivecars. They
need
a low cost solution for keeping track of the vehicles for minimizing loses
due to employes going to places they are not supossed to go (e.g.
technicians going
to make its own work in company hours). As in many Latin American
countries, in Panama we do have a very expensive celular service, so we need
to go to a system that uses GPS and VHF/UHF/Trunking radio bands for working
real
time or one that stores track information and later downloads it to a PC.
In the PC station, a geographic city
streets database runned by a GIS software may display the track and details
in both options.

I woulld apreciate any help on this topic.
