Subject: RE: Wireless Dev: WAP Gateway/Server Evaluation

Phone.com, Nokia and Infinite technologies(WapLite fast cause writtenin ANSI
C)are the servers(gateways)that I would recommend(just from availability and
internal evaluation).

It is theoretically possible for a palm vii to talk to a wap server but it
will take some work. You have to load a wap browser for palmos (like wapman)
and you need a seperate wireless modem. Palm vii,as it comes out of the
box, only talks to palmnet network.

The stuff you do to get the palm vii talking to a wap server will work for
older palms (palm v)

Subject: Wireless Dev: WAP Gateway/Server Evaluation

Hi,
I am new to WAP world. I need to provide wireless
service for our 4-tier internet application
(HTML-WEB-APP SERVER - DB) for North America at this
point.
I found many WAP servers (Phone.com, CMG, Ericsson,
Integra, Nokia, Tanala, Silicon Automation, Audicode,
Kannel etc). I am looking for any comparision data in
these WAP servers and also which ones are the most
used in the industry at present.
Another question is: Can Palm VII talk to a WAP server
?

Thanks a mill

- Janet
