Got An Opinion? - I recently came accross the following statement by a
fellow journalist recently... "LBS has been put on the back burner while the
wireless carriers figure out how to make money from location services". Do
you really think that LBS is on the back burner? "Sal Dhanani, Director Of
Marketing, Televigation informs us that Televigation was the first to launch
an LBS service with a major carrier last year. TeleNav, turn-by-turn
navigation was launched with Nextel I October. We¡¯re are now in the process
of launching another LBS app on Nextel¡¯s GPS handset that will allow
in-expensive fleet tracking. By the end of the year we will probably see
other carriers also launch LBS services." What's your opinion? Send comments
