Subject: MobileLBSList: RE: assigning a URL to the 'back' button
Date:  10/30/2000 08:40:01 AM
From:  Lucien Deen (BCN)

Hi paul,

Also in reply to your former message.

For keeping variables while you change cards or decks even when you press back or prev, you could try this>

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE wml PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD WML 1.1//EN"
"http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/wml_1.1.xml">
<wml>
<card id="first" title="First">
<do type="prev" label="Back this is">
<go href="#next"/>
</do>
<p>first card fill in the name and push the softkey back button
(Back this is) or the normal Back button.
<input title="name" name="firstname"/>
</p>
</card>
<card id="next" title="Next">
<p>
Now you are on the card you assigned to the prev type.
You should see the name you filled in in the input field
<input title="Firstname:" name="firstname"/>
</p>
</card>
</wml>

The syntax you used
<do type="accept" label="Back">
<go href="index.wml"/>
</do>
should show a new soft-key "Back"-button or override the old soft-key "Back"-button but it will not be assigned to the (hardware)key back/prev-button.
If it doesn't show the soft-key "Back"-button, as you say, the emulator or phone you use does not support this to well, try another one.

greetins Lucien

Subject: assigning a URL to the 'back' button

Hello everyone,
How or what is the syntax to assign a URL to the back button? I have
the standard syntax for the back button, literally one step back, but I want
to assign a specific address for it. We have :

<do type="prev" label="Back">
<prev/>
</do>

for the standard one step back, but :

<do type="accept" label="Back">
<go href="index.wml"/>
</do>

does not display the back button at all. Can you help me please?

Many thnaks

PAul.
