Subject: Re: MobileLBSList: Article slamming wireless web

I have not had time to read all the postings on this subject - obviously a
hot topic given all the mail!

Anyway, NTT DoCoMo with Imode is gathering new subscribers at a very high
rate in the Japanese market. One major reason - downloadable games you can
play on your cell phone! Give the public what they want and they will buy.
So, all technology arguing and emotion aside, it comes down to what the
market demands - or as Bryan says - public perception. Given the demand, the
industry will figure out how to provide it. They obviously believe the
demand is (or will be there) or they would not be spending billions in
Europe just to have airwave rights for 3G. And in the process, some
technologies will "die" and other ones will be adopted. Business as
normal - and much more business methodical than the .com mess.

My two cents

Carl Reed
