GPS units will work anywhere (satellite-based) and you can buy GPS add-ons
for Palm devices (and Handspring modules!). For "device-less" LBS using the
location of a mobile phone, for instance, the individual telcos need to
enable it. You'll also have to work with your carrier to "hook" into their
system.
