=================

PointBase, Inc., the leader in mobile wireless 100% Pure Java(tm) data
management and synchronization products, presents "Code for the Road," an
application contest that will award $25,000 for the best Java application
using PointBase data management products. The Grand Prize will also include
the opportunity to have "breakfast with a VC" to discuss potentially funding
the success of the winning solution.

PointBase has also established separate categories for "commercial
developers" who are writing applications for resale, "in-house developers"
who are creating solutions for use within their own businesses, and "personal
developers" who are writing applications that may be posted as shareware or
freeware within the Java community. The runner-up in each category will be
awarded $5,000.

The contest is open to new and existing solutions that developers have
written to SQL and JDBC standards. The winners will be announced at an awards
ceremony at the JavaCon Developers' Conference in Santa Clara, California on
September 26.

For more information, or if you would like to enter the "Code for the Road"
contest, please visit www.pointbase.com/contest. The deadline for all entries
is August 15, 2000.
