Subject: RE: MobileLBSList: Looking for feedback.....
Date:  08/14/2000 05:45:36 AM
From:  Charlie Van Dusen

I will hope to summarize www.WhereEverYouGo.com for the subscribers of this
list.

Basically, I ask the user to establish their own location (which must be
somewhere in the US at this point. Once location is established, I allow
them to search on any number of layers.

The site technologies are c++, IIS, SQL Server.

I have found that the most challenging part to date has been supporting a
growing list of devices that want different output (HTML, WML, HDML)..

I hope your next attempt to get to www.WhereEverYouGo.com will be a success.

Cheers

Charlie

I tried it but it said the service was unavailable. I'll try it later. In
the meantime, for those without the spare time or without a WAP device,
would you mind explaining in a bit more detail what your app does? How do
you access the location? What are you using on the back-end to perform a
lookup? Finally, how are you handling the WAP and HTML Output (XSLT or
something else?)?

Sorry for all the questions...but we're all basically geeks here :-)

Bryan
