Subject: RE: Wireless Dev: Introduction
Date:  06/14/2000 12:38:16 PM
From:  Kaur Balwinder-LBK003

Hi,

My name is Balwinder Kaur. I am a Senior software engineer with Motorola's
Internet and Networking Group (not the wireless group !). I have around 7
yrs of s/w development experience - have worked with C, C++, Java. I'm also
familiar with Network Management Frameworks like Openview, Unicenter TNG. I
joined the group to understand what the wireless web is all about - the
technologies involved and get some recommendations for good books.

Looking forward to an enriching experience on this mailing list.

Thanks,
Balwinder Kaur

Ooops...My name is Bryan Morgan and I've bee caffeine-free for 10
minutes...just kidding...

I'm the founder and Managing Editor of WirelessDevNet.com. I've got ten
years development experience on a wide variety of platforms from Palm (and
lately WAP) to Web to Windows to Solaris to MVS. Over the past three years,
the majority of my development has been in Java, ASP, or PHP
(WirelessDevNet.com runs on PHP/Postgres/RedHat Linux). I've also been
heavily involved with publishing since 1995 when I co-authored "Teach
Yourself SQL" for Sams Publishing. Since then, I've authored/co-authored 7
other titles, edited a bunch of titles for a variety of publishers, and
written the occasional column or article for magazines such as JavaWorld,
Dr. Dobb's, and DBMS.

I have a BSEE from Clemson and fiddled around with a MSCS before the concept
of work-for-money lured me away from the ivory towers of academia. The Palm
VII is currently my most-used handheld device although I'm looking forward
to trying a RIM 957.

Thanks,

Bryan
